Burning sensations

The last dying strokes

of brainwaves shattering through my head

as I close my bursting eyes

My skin smelts, leaving a distinct memory

of bacon behind.

I screamed when my hair went up

In flames and my nylon shirt got stuck

smelted into my burning skin.

I would have cried

from pain

But the heat vanquished the drops

before they ever appeared

Why did I choose this way out?
